Junior traveling football
At Ormiston AFC comprises of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Grades. After 12th grade, players move on to Youth football (which we will introduce in 2025).
Junior grade teams play on Saturday mornings. There are two options for games for the 9th -12th Grade depending on how much you are prepared to travel and the amount of training your children can commit to.
There are 2 options depending on the amount of travel and commitment to training you want to do.
- Option 1: Northern Region Football (NRF) Travelling Teams: Players can participate in inter-club competitions, so will have both home and away games. Generally games kick off between 9am and 11am, but this may vary from week to week depending on location and field availability. These teams in this age group are part of our Junior Development Programme and a required comittment is being able to train weekly.
- Option 2: Inhouse (9th-12th Grade): Playing against other Ormiston AFC teams as well as Fencibles at the same location every Saturday- Meadowlands Reserve. Click here fore more information.
The 2025 football season will play over term 2 and term 3 of the school calendar. Start date is on early April and will finish late September 2025. No games on the 19th and 26th April, no games on Kings birthday weekend, NO games on 5th & 12th July for school holidays. These is games on Matariki weekend and the first weekend of the school holidays.
Grading is strictly based on the year of birth: (2025 Season):
2016 - 9th Grade
2015- 10th Grade
2014- 11th Grade
2013- 12th Grade
Team Kits
All players should wear Ormiston AFC playing shirt, shorts and socks. These can be purchased via your sign-in or more information HERE. Shin pads are to be worn.
